4th ASEAN CIO FORUM
Introduction
ASEAN CIO Forum is an annual ASEAN CIO event to promote innovative and collaborations amongst government, businesses, institutions and citizens. The prime objective is to promote sharing, best practices by running a highly interactive and engaging forum for CIOs, from within ASEAN and beyond. The forum is set to provide opportunity for networking and relationship building amongst ICT players in ASEAN, which ultimately to synergize and establish the ASEAN CIO Association. This year, for the first time E-Government National Centre (EGNC) in-collaboration with the ASEAN CIO Association (ACIOA) will be hosting the 4th ASEAN CIO Forum in Brunei Darussalam. The theme for this year is “Global Competitiveness – Optimising Technological Advances”. The forum will be held for two days on 8th June 2015 until 9th June 2015 at Rizqun International Hotel, Bandar Seri Begawan. It is expected around 250 participants will be attending the forum, which among of the attendees are ASEAN delegates, government and private Chief Information Officers, Chief Technical Officers, Project Managers and IT entrepreneurs.
Highlight for this year plenary sessions topics, are i) Cloud Services, ii) Internet of Things and Smart Cities and, iii) Crowdsourcing and Social Media. Another session that will be conducted is the Countries’ experience dialog sessions. Nominated ASEAN delegates will be sharing their experiences/plan and knowledge on applying technology at their countries. On the following day, ASEAN delegates will be invited to take part on a roundtable discussion that will be chaired by ACIOA. ASEAN delegates will also be visiting several of Brunei’s technical innovation centers during the learning excursion. With the extensive plenary session topics, participants will have the opportunity to explore and gain information from professional organizations and speakers on many topics around technology advances. ASEAN delegates will be able to share and learn on how technology can be apply/has been applied within their countries. Additionally, CIOs and IT entrepreneurs will be able to project the future technology needs.
